Our Story

Our love story began in 2014 when we met on a service trip to the Dominican Republic as two teenagers living in Los Angeles and Minneapolis. From the moment we saw each other at the airport, we both hoped we were on the same trip.

We spent a week in the Dominican Republic getting to know each other and dreading the end of our time together… we were 16-years-old, 2,000 miles apart, and would only get to see each other every few months. We spent the time in between visits on the phone, talking about where we could go to college together, places we might want to live after graduation, and daydreaming about the end of long-distance.

After two-and-a-half years of long-distance, we both enrolled at the University of San Francisco—our first time living in the same city. After a year at USF, Logan had to go back to Minneapolis, while Ryan stayed in San Francisco. Fast forward to 2019, when we again met in San Francisco at the Outside Lands music festival and our relationship picked up right where it left off. We felt the same sparks, butterflies, and connection we did in the JFK airport, four years earlier.

Again, we had to date long-distance, though this time only for a few months. In March of 2020, Ryan visited Minneapolis to celebrate Logan’s birthday and to plan his move there after graduation. COVID struck, the city of San Francisco shut down, and Ryan got to move to Minneapolis three months ahead of schedule!

After 18 months in Minneapolis, we moved to Los Angeles, where we got engaged on April 26th, 2025… National Pretzel Day, which we celebrate every year with our dog, Pretzel. Our 12-year journey has been somewhat unconventional—we met in another country, as two teenagers living 1,914 miles apart—but we’ve always, always found our way back to each other.
